 More about BHS

BHS website

British Home Stores is a store that has existed from its humble beginnings in the 1920’s through a diverse history to what it is today. At the time BHS copied business models of other companies by limiting the goods they sold to a maximum price, not to price themselves out of the market. The business continued in this light slowly adding more diverse and expensive products to their sales range when in the late 1970’s British Home Stores decided to try out a joint business venture with Sainsbury’s of the time. The idea was to create superstores that catered for all your needs in one store without having to do a separate shopping trip to a home goods store. Sainsbury’s eventually took over this initial store. British Home Stores through the following years and a down turn in the market to rethink its business plan by introducing other high profit products to their store and headed in this direction until the 1990’s when the store was taken over by Phillip Green. He steered the company through a number of years of turmoil, bought the large Arcadia group of other well known branded stores such as Top Shop, Burton and Evans; introduced innovative ideas such as buying Etam UK so that its Tammy range made the company more popular with a younger market.

What do BHS sell?

BHS Review

British Home Stores is a well known and respected British high street giant that has existed in many towns and cities for a number of years. British Home Stores have now expanded their sales audience to encompass that of the internet and develop their company in a completely different direction that store based sales. British Home Stores is the original British high street store and as such house a menagerie of goods large and small that has anything to do with the home. The website is always colourful, easy to use and offering a variety of offers and sales.
