Want to get into shape this year but worried about the cost of the gym? Need a gym that will help you shed the pounds but also help you save them too?
Here at NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, we’ve crunched the numbers to see which area of the UK is the cheapest place to work out.
Norwich and Bournemouth are both helping fitness fanatics shed the pounds with the cheapest average gym membership in the UK (£15.99).
We found that this was £5.28 cheaper per month than the national average of £21.27.
Plymouth and Milton Keynes took the third and fourth spot as some of the cheapest places to get fit in 2022 with average prices of £15.49 and £15.66.
The East Midlands also proved to be a cheap area to work out with Derby, Leicester, and Northampton all having an average membership price of £16.38.
It was no surprise that locations further away from the capital city have a lower average cost per month. Liverpool, Newcastle, and Wolverhampton for example all have a very reasonable average monthly cost of £16.66.
It is no surprise that one of the most affluent cities in the UK, Bath, topped the list as the most expensive place to attend the gym with an average membership price of £34.97. Which is an eye-watering £13.70 more than the national average.
Gym-goers in London will also have to splash out on their membership, as the capital city came closely behind with an average monthly membership of £33.49.
For those living in Luton, Portsmouth, Coventry, Poole, Warrington, York, Sheffield or Leeds and seeking out a gym membership for the New Year may be in for a shock. These areas made up the rest of the top ten most expensive places to train in the country, with an average monthly cost of £27.91.
Brighton, Edinburgh and Southampton came in the middle of the table with average memberships of £21.33, £19.99 and £19.33 respectively.
You shouldn’t have to get a sweat on when finding a gym for the right price, save that for the treadmill!
