This community based charity is one close to our hearts here at NetVoucherCodes. Based in our local community, this fantastic organisation provides food and essentials for people across the town who need it most. Fleetwood Together relies on the goodwill and generosity of others to help those in need making it our honour to support in every way we can.
Since October of 2020, NetVoucherCodes have made up to £5200 in donations to Fleetwood Together. Shaun MacNeill has shared a few words with how the pandemic affected their services and how our donations have supported them during the two toughest years.
As you can imagine, the year from March ’20 was particularly busy with sufficient food for each individual for a week – covering over 1500 people (children and adults) and over 400 families.Shaun MacNeill – Fleetwood Together Westview Community Association
Numbers decreased at the start of ’21 but soon rose as the second wave hit but with a shorter lockdown. Out of lockdown, food was delivered to those unable to get out – the elderly and vulnerable as well as those with covid – a significant number.
During this time we collected as much end of the day food from supermarkets but this was not particularly significant and all money raised was spent buying food from various least expensive sources. The money raised was absolutely vital and we (or more importantly those being fed) are extremely grateful for donations such as yours.
At the busiest times, we were probably spending up to £2500 a week! For the foreseeable future, there is going to be a fluctuating demand for food support, particularly with rises in NI, Fuel, etc.
