Why we love shopping online at Boots

It is the one site where we can do a full restock in a single basket: skincare, a fragrance for a gift, sun cream for the holiday and the everyday healthcare bits, with No7, MAC, Soltan and Sol De Janeiro sitting alongside the high-street names. The homepage flags the best offers, and the 'Shop by Department' filter narrows by brand, category or price in seconds.

My own habit is to check the £10 Tuesday picks and the Sale & Clearance tab before I look for a code. I have saved over £40 on a single order that way, applying a voucher code on top of prices that were already reduced, with Advantage Card points earned too.

How to save money at Boots without a discount code

Collect points with the free Advantage Card

The Advantage Card is where the saving starts. Each £1 you spend earns 3p in points to put towards a future order, and members get 10% off own-brand items plus a free Health & Beauty magazine. Points must cover a whole order, so let them build and spend them on a bigger basket.

Some shoppers earn faster. If you are 60 or over, the Over 60s Rewards scheme pays 8 points per £1 on own-brand and selected exclusive products, and the Parenting Club pays the same rate on baby buys. Recycling counts too: five clean empties taken to an in-store recycling point, with the visit registered online, earn up to 500 points, worth £5.

Shop the £10 Tuesday deals and the app

Every Tuesday, selected big-brand products across beauty, skincare and health drop to £10 for 24 hours, online only. The picks appear early in the morning, so set a reminder and check the homepage banner; No7 and Olay are among the brands featured.

The free app is the other route worth having. Its Price Advantage offers mean lower prices on over 150 selected products, tailored deals show in pink once you log in with your Advantage Card, and signing up alone earns hundreds of points.

Use free Click & Collect over £15

Spend £15 or more, choose Click & Collect at checkout, and the order is ready to pick up from your nearest store for nothing, often the same day. If you would rather have it delivered, free standard delivery starts at £25, so a small top-up to the basket can work out cheaper than paying postage.

Check Sale & Clearance and the No7 offers before paying full price

The Sale and Clearance section runs all year with discounts of over 50%. For No7, the Value Sets page bundles favourites as multi-buys, and the Better Than Half Price section keeps up to 50% off all year round. Add the 3 for 2 Mix & Match deal on toiletries, cosmetics and baby essentials, and the 'Free Gift' sticker on selected skincare, fragrance and cosmetics.
