What’s your role within the Content Team?

As a social media coordinator and writer, my job is to create helpful and innovative content for our users. I take an active part in ideation meetings, where we as a team come up with money-saving topics to include in our campaigns. It’s then my responsibility to bring these campaigns to life by creating engaging & optimised content for our blog and social media channels.

As well as writing for our blog, I’m also responsible for making sure our retailer pages stay updated with the latest money-saving content. I am tasked with monitoring and improving the content for a selection of retailers throughout the year, making sure they always feature accurate advice and helpful seasonal content.

On top of this, I also help guide some of the junior members of the content team, using my years of experience to train any new members that come on board. Watching my own expertise and confidence grow over the years has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the job and something I love to inspire in younger colleagues that are just starting out!

Do you live by the money-saving ethos you preach?

100%! As well as being a member of the content team here at NetVoucherCodes, I am also a full-time student, so saving money is a huge part of my life. I always look for a code before checking out and love taking advantage of the variety of student deals available online.

I am also known around the office as the Carboot Queen, with years of successful car booting under my belt. I love finding bargains at local car boots and have saved myself hundreds of pounds over the years on everything from garden furniture to designer shoes! I also spend my spare time buying and selling my old clothing online to make a few extra quid on pieces I no longer use. No matter where I am, I’m always on the lookout for little ways I can save money.

Can you disclose your most successful savings tips?

Buying second-hand is one of the easiest ways to save money. And these days, there’s no need to go rummaging around charity shops or thrift stores (although that can be a lot of fun). You’ll find loads of secondhand goodies online with a number of popular retailers now boasting marketplaces and refurbished sections where you can buy low-cost, pre-owned items with ease. I, myself, have bought several secondhand books for my degree from online retailers like Oxfam Online Shop and musicMagpie. And once I’m finished with them, I sell them again to get some cash back!
