Why we love Heathrow Airport Parking

I always use Heathrow Airport Parking when I fly from London because it makes my trip so much easier, and I’ve picked up a few tricks over the years to keep it affordable too! I usually book well in advance through their official site, and that alone often knocks £20-£30 off compared to turning up on the day.

The Park & Ride option is my go-to when I’m trying to save. It’s cheaper than parking right next to the terminal, and the shuttle buses are frequent and never caused an issue for me - I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes! Last time I flew out of Terminal 5, I paid just under £60 for a full week using a Heathrow Airport Parking discount code I found on NetVoucherCodes.

If I’m travelling early in the morning or with my family, I sometimes splurge on the Meet & Greet. It’s pricier, but if you can grab a code or book during a sale, it doesn’t cost much more than the Short Stay option and is just super handy for those early-hour flights.

One of my top tips is to always check for a promo code and compare all the parking options before booking. There’s usually a way to save a decent amount, especially if you’re flexible.

How to save money at Heathrow Airport Parking without a discount code

Book Online before you Travel

We always recommend booking in advance - it's the easiest way to save.

  • Planning is the best way to get lower prices, and we’ve seen the difference first-hand. Turning up and paying on the day can cost much more than booking the same space online just 24 hours before.
  • Just head to Heathrow’s official parking page and get a quick quote. You’ll be able to compare car park types, prices, and see what works best for your terminal and budget.
  • Plus, when you book online, you can often access extras like flexible cancellation and vehicle registration plate recognition for easier access.

Choose Park & Ride for Longer Trips

If you're flying long-haul or heading away for a week or more, Park & Ride gives you the best value.

  • It’s further from the terminal than Short Stay or Meet & Greet, but free shuttle buses run regularly, so you won’t be stuck waiting.
  • Daily rates start from £40.80, and the price per day drops the longer you stay, which is ideal for a family holiday or extended business trip.
  • You can also park for free for up to 30 minutes if you just need to wait and pick someone up without heading into Short Stay.

Use Short Stay for Drop-Offs – But Don’t Overstay

Short Stay is handy for quick goodbyes or pick-ups, but it can get pricey fast.

  • If you’re in and out within 30 minutes, it’ll cost you £7.50. Go over an hour and it jumps to £13.20 or more, so keep an eye on the clock.
  • It’s right next to the terminal, so it’s great for people with mobility issues or kids in tow - but if you’re staying longer, pre-booking is still cheaper.

Compare by Terminal

Prices can vary depending on where you're flying from, so it’s worth checking.

  • For example, Terminal 5’s Short Stay car park tends to be one of the more expensive options. If you’re looking to save, choosing Park & Ride might be a better value - even if it adds a short shuttle journey to your trip.
  • Heathrow's quote tool lets you compare options for your terminal side-by-side, so it’s worth using that before you book anything.

Look for Special Offers and Bundles

Heathrow sometimes offers extras alongside parking, like lounge access or valet upgrades, especially if you book during peak travel periods.

  • These aren’t always visible straight away, so it’s worth exploring the full site or signing up for Heathrow updates if you park there regularly.
  • You might not always get money off, but getting a freebie with your booking can still boost the value.

Take Advantage of Free Cancellation

Plans can change last minute, especially when you’re travelling. Luckily, Heathrow offers free cancellation on all bookings up to 2 hours before your arrival time.

  • We’ve used this before when flights changed unexpectedly—it’s reassuring to know you can cancel or rebook without losing your money.
  • Just make sure you cancel through your booking confirmation link or account online to avoid any charges.

Ride a Motorcycle? Park for Free

Motorcyclists can enjoy completely free parking at Heathrow, with secure bays located near most terminals.

  • It’s a great way to avoid traffic and save money - especially if you're travelling solo or packing light.
  • You’ll find free motorbike parking at Terminals 2, 3 and 5 - just check the Heathrow parking map to find the right spot.
