Why we love Rabbies

Rabbie’s is always somewhere I recommend to friends when they say they want to see more of Scotland without hiring a car or joining a huge coach tour! Their small-group trips are so easy to book, you can actually hear the guide, and there’s room to stop when something catches your eye rather than sticking to a rigid timetable.

I’ve always thought their 1-day Highlands tours from Edinburgh, which usually cost around £60 to £70, are great value for a full day out! It covers places like Glencoe, Rannoch Moor and Loch Lomond, and if you’re flexible about which attractions you visit, you can keep spending down. On one trip, I skipped a paid visitor centre and spent the time exploring the area instead, which easily saved me £15-£20 without taking anything away from the experience.

Their multi-day tours are another must. Routes like the Isle of Skye & the Highlands, Mull & Iona, or the North Coast 500 give you a lot of freedom compared to traditional tours! Prices vary depending on length and accommodation, but when you break it down per day, they often work out cheaper than booking transport, accommodation and tours separately. I’ve found that choosing slightly less popular departure dates can knock a noticeable amount off the total price, especially outside peak summer weeks.

Another thing I like is how clear everything is upfront. Accommodation, transport and guiding are all included, and optional extras are genuinely optional. That makes budgeting much easier, particularly if you’re travelling for a few days. I’ve saved money simply by planning a couple of packed lunches or choosing free scenic stops over paid attractions along the way.

Before booking anything, I always check this page for the latest Rabbie’s offers. Even when there isn’t a discount code to use, knowing which tours offer the best value for the time of year - or which departures are priced a little lower - has helped me book trips that feel special without overspending.

How to save money at Rabbies without a discount code

Check the offers page before you pick dates

The offers section is always the first place I check when I’m looking for a deal on my next tour!

  • Rabbie’s regularly reduces selected tours or departures, and the saving is already built into the price.
  • You don’t need a Rabbie’s voucher code at checkout, which makes things nice and simple.
  • I’ve seen multi-day Scotland tours drop just by choosing a different week, especially outside peak summer.

Travel slightly off-peak if you can

Being flexible with timing really helps with Rabbie’s pricing!

  • Spring and early autumn tours are often cheaper than July and August, but still give you amazing scenery.
  • Routes like Skye, the Highlands and the Isle of Mull tend to cost less once school holidays end.

Look at day tours for great value

If you don’t want to stretch to a multi-day trip, day tours are a great money-saver.

  • One-day tours include transport and a local guide, often for less than you’d spend organising it yourself!
  • There’s no accommodation to pay for, which keeps the overall cost down.
  • It’s a great option if you want the Rabbie’s experience without having to book a full tour.

Be mindful of accommodation choices on longer trips

Multi-day tours can vary in price depending on where you stay.

  • Choosing standard B&B accommodation instead of upgraded options can knock a fair bit off the total price.
  • You still get the same route, stops and guide – just simpler accommodation.
  • This has always worked out cheaper for me!
