Use the student or graduate discount

Students get up to 15% off UK car hire and 7.5% off UK van hire, and graduates get up to 15% off too. Students verify for free through Student Beans; graduates within 5 years of finishing verify through Grad Beans. Both routes are listed on Europcar's own offers page, so they are the real thing rather than a rumour.

Book direct and check the offers page

Europcar says it plainly: book direct to get the best deal. The offers page carries the current seasonal and destination promotions, which change through the year, and business account holders get up to 10% off business rentals worldwide, with long-term hire from one month and no early-exit penalty.

Use Delivery & Collection when it beats the taxi

Europcar will bring the car to you from £25 each way, anywhere in the UK, for cars, vans and EVs, on weekdays between 9am and 6pm and Saturdays between 9am and 1pm. A car can be delivered within 2 hours of booking and a van within 4, which can cost less than two taxi rides to the branch.

Europcar publishes these, and they matter more to the final price than any code.

The minimum age for UK rentals is 22, and a young driver surcharge may apply if you are under 26; the exact amount appears at booking once you enter your date of birth. Mileage is unlimited on UK car rentals up to 27 days. From 28 days you choose a 30, 90 or 120-mile daily allowance, averaged across the rental, and excess miles cost 30p each; vans include 250 miles a day on rentals up to 6 days.

The deposit is a pre-authorisation block, not a charge, on a credit card in the main driver's name, released after the vehicle comes back with no extra charges. Cancellation is free on refundable rates with at least 48 hours' notice, and late cancellations and no-shows carry a fee.

Basic protection is included in the quoted price, with an excess that depends on the vehicle and country. Medium protection reduces the excess and adds windscreen, lights and tyres; Premium waives the liability altogether, for drivers 22 and over and not on trucks or luxury cars. Discounts never apply to protection or extras, so compare quotes with the same cover selected.

Loyalty levels that grow with you

Privilege For You runs from Discoverer to Navigator. Level 2 earns 10% more points, Level 3 adds the upgrade, free additional driver and priority desk, and Level 4 (10,000 points) brings a double category upgrade and premium events. Level 1 members also get up to 15% off at Accor hotels.

Business accounts

Open a business account online for up to 10% off business rentals worldwide, flexible long-term hire from one month with no commitment, and electric vehicles such as the Skoda Enyaq and Polestar 4 on long-term terms.

Additional drivers

Any additional driver must be present at pick-up, named on the agreement, and able to show a licence and ID; only named drivers are insured. A free additional driver is one of the Privilege surprise rewards and a standing Level 3 benefit.
